Juan Carlos Alvarez E is a Senior Consultant with International Compliance Solutions LLC, providing services through Entra Consulting, a Houston-based energy consultancy. He has a legal and business profile with a holistic view addressing complex family offices, wealth management, asset protection, special situations, private equity, acquisitions, enhanced due diligence, strategy, corporate finance, distress, transitions, management, and operations. He is an expert in designing exit strategies.

Mr. Alvarez has CEO and ownership experience aligning diverse stakeholder interests/forces under high uncertainty. Mr. Alvarez has experience as the founder, owner, director, and operator of a financial advisor and broker-dealer firm in Venezuela. Mr. Alvarez also provides political and national security advisers.

His experience includes founding and operating his own boutique legal and strategy firm, focusing on startups and entrepreneurs. He was a partner with TORRES PLAZ & ARAUJO, Caracas, was a Foreign Associate with CLIFFORD CHANCE (Rogers and Wells), with the Cross Border Corporate Finance Group of the firm, and also served as an attorney for PRO COMPETENCIA (the Venezuelan Antitrust Agency). Mr. Alvarez lived in Argentina where he was appointed CEO of an oil field service operations (drilling company) in Patagonia, while he participated on the board of the holding company of EDES (Electricidad del Sur) and EDEN (Electricidad del Norte) serving the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mr. Alvarez has a JD degree from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello (Caracas Venezuela 1992) an LLM with a specialization in International Trade and Finance from Tulane University Scholl of Law (New Orleans, Louisiana, 1994), and several economic and management courses from the Economics Institute at the University of Colorado (Boulder 1993). He also holds an MBA from New York University (NYU), the London School of Economics (LSE), and HEC Paris (www.triumemba.org) (New York, 2010). For years Mr. Alvarez had been a professor of Contracts Law at UCAB, and of Legal Environment for the IESA MBA in Caracas. Mr.Alvarez has been trained under the Harvard Negotiation Project.
